I have been working in the business and accounting field since 1986. My career started with reviewing field audits for a private firm and I quickly found that I needed a better balance of working with numbers and supporting people. I worked for 12 years as a provider and administrator in long-term care before joining MEORC in 1997. I enjoy working with our Business and Leadership team to support our Mission and to work towards realizing our Vision.  I married Lee, my high school sweetheart, in 1986, and we have a son, Kyle, and daughter, Katelyn, (and a grand dog, Nala). Since 1992, we have lived on a small farm outside of Mount Vernon where we have built our house and barns through the hard work of my husband, my father and our friends. Community involvement is important to me which is why I volunteer whenever I can. I enjoy volunteering as a 4-H Advisor, Sunday School teacher, President of a local non-profit housing board and working with the Knox County Relay for Life. Our vision to build strong communities is a key reason that I so enjoy working at MEORC.

I began working at MEORC in 2002 negotiating contracts and service rates with providers.  Prior to that I worked in the private sector - manufacturing arena, which was okay and had its rewards, but I must say having a job with a mission to help people live better lives is so moving and truly awesome.  Throughout my career at MEORC I have been involved with a variety of business and operational functions, wearing many hats.  Some of the things I am involved with at MEORC are Medicaid Service System Facilitation (number crunching), procurement (supplies/computers/equipment), Human Resources (policy and procedure development), IT support facilitation (I’m not an IT person…I just drew the short straw hereJ) and building maintenance (yard work, shoveling snow, plumbing issues, and a variety of other stuff).  I am addicted to a few things, like cran-grape juice, watching sports, The Ohio State University Athletics and playing GOLF!   I am a 9-time Friendly Urban Golf Association (F.U.G.A.) champion!  I have also been a certified softball umpire for 10 years.  My wife Lisa and I live in Danville and we have 3 awesome kids (all adults now, but they’re always your kids, right?).  We are members of the Louisville Weimaraner Rescue group, and have fostered dogs since 2011.  At this point we are raising a grand-cat that now thinks it is a dog.  I am so blessed and fortunate enough to work with such an amazing and extremely talented team at MEORC.  I am really excited about the possibilities for how we can continue to grow our organization in the future.

I have been with MEORC since 2001 specializing in Quality Assurance and Process Management.  I have a very keen eye for detail, while understanding the importance of the big picture and maintaining a focus for the customers I serve. I have also worked for Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Children Services and an Intermediate Care Facility.  In each vocation I have learned that communication is the key to success and supporting people in achieving their outcomes. In my spare time I write music, play guitar and all instruments and write stories. My daughter inspires me.  She has taken all the best of me and my lessons in teaching her and has become an outstanding athlete, student and person. My nephew, Brodyn lives every day with Nonketotic Hyperglyciniemia (NKH). He is our hero.

Work for MEORC

The Developmental Disabilities RN is responsible for supporting the region in maintaining the health and safety of people with developmental disabilities. This includes training, conducting reviews, assessments and performing delegated nursing tasks.
