I have been working in the business and accounting field since 1986. My career started with reviewing field audits for a private firm and I quickly found that I needed a better balance of working with numbers and supporting people. I worked for 12 years as a provider and administrator in long-term care before joining MEORC in 1997. I enjoy working with our Business and Leadership team to support our Mission and to work towards realizing our Vision.  I married Lee, my high school sweetheart, in 1986, and we have a son, Kyle, and daughter, Katelyn, (and a grand dog, Nala). Since 1992, we have lived on a small farm outside of Mount Vernon where we have built our house and barns through the hard work of my husband, my father and our friends. Community involvement is important to me which is why I volunteer whenever I can. I enjoy volunteering as a 4-H Advisor, Sunday School teacher, President of a local non-profit housing board and working with the Knox County Relay for Life. Our vision to build strong communities is a key reason that I so enjoy working at MEORC.

I began working at MEORC in 2002 negotiating contracts and service rates with providers.  Prior to that I worked in the private sector - manufacturing arena, which was okay and had its rewards, but I must say having a job with a mission to help people live better lives is so moving and truly awesome.  Throughout my career at MEORC I have been involved with a variety of business and operational functions, wearing many hats.  Some of the things I am involved with at MEORC are Medicaid Service System Facilitation (number crunching), procurement (supplies/computers/equipment), Human Resources (policy and procedure development), IT support facilitation (I’m not an IT person…I just drew the short straw hereJ) and building maintenance (yard work, shoveling snow, plumbing issues, and a variety of other stuff).  I am addicted to a few things, like cran-grape juice, watching sports, The Ohio State University Athletics and playing GOLF!   I am a 9-time Friendly Urban Golf Association (F.U.G.A.) champion!  I have also been a certified softball umpire for 10 years.  My wife Lisa and I live in Danville and we have 3 awesome kids (all adults now, but they’re always your kids, right?).  We are members of the Louisville Weimaraner Rescue group, and have fostered dogs since 2011.  At this point we are raising a grand-cat that now thinks it is a dog.  I am so blessed and fortunate enough to work with such an amazing and extremely talented team at MEORC.  I am really excited about the possibilities for how we can continue to grow our organization in the future.

I have been with MEORC since 2001 specializing in Quality Assurance and Process Management.  I have a very keen eye for detail, while understanding the importance of the big picture and maintaining a focus for the customers I serve. I have also worked for Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Children Services and an Intermediate Care Facility.  In each vocation I have learned that communication is the key to success and supporting people in achieving their outcomes. In my spare time I write music, play guitar and all instruments and write stories. My daughter inspires me.  She has taken all the best of me and my lessons in teaching her and has become an outstanding athlete, student and person. My nephew, Brodyn lives every day with Nonketotic Hyperglyciniemia (NKH). He is our hero.

I have been with MEORC over 5 years. I provide support in the Business office. My 20 years experience comes from customer service, data entry and office support. One of my quirks is that I am a list maker and have to have things very organized. I have been married to Mike, who I met in high school, for the past 40 years. I have 3 adult children, 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. My proudest accomplishment is a 60 mile walk in 3 days for breast cancer fund raising. I love the OSU Buckeyes and once went to Urban Meyer's football camp for women. I got my picture with him and the championship trophy. Some of my hobbies include baking, walking, crafting, golfing. I like to volunteer at my daughter’s school when time permits. She teaches 3rd grade. I enjoy my job at MEORC and the people I work with. It is gratifying knowing you are helping people with disabilities.

I started my career with MEORC January 2013, after working several years in higher education.  I was born and raised in Loudonville Ohio, where I raised both my kids who are now grown and living in Columbus. My free time includes watching OSU sports, working in my hosta beds, and running.  I started my 21st year of running, spending the past year doing all trail runs in Mohican State Park.  I will be participating in the Fuzzy Fandgo this fall, doing a 9 mile run which supports Camp Nuhop, a residential summer camp for children with learning disabilities and ASD (Autistics Spectrum Disorders) and attention deficit disorders as well as their outdoor education program.

I earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University; that has led me to have a career in banking, office management and revenue management. I have been involved in office and cash management careers for over 18 years.  There was something missing for me in these career paths, I wanted to be able to have a more direct impact on people’s lives.  That is how I came to be employed at MEORC. I was born and raised in Mount Vernon.  After living in Columbus and Cleveland for many years, I now live in Mount Vernon with Ian, my husband of 10 years and our 3 fur babies (our cats named Mamacita, Karma and Melvin).  When I am not at the office you will find me working on our old colonial style home, exploring areas in and around Ohio, traveling the world, cooking or cheering for all Cleveland team (especially the Indians).

I am a registered nurse with 24 years’ experience.  I worked 11 years in the open heart surgery unit at Aultman Hospital.  After I had my four children, I left the hospital to stay home with them full time. I utilized that time to further my education.  My passion has always been nutrition and healthy lifestyle education; therefore, I went back to school to become a Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant.  I worked for 3 years with a Holistic Practitioner giving seminars and consulting with and helping various individuals improve their eating and overall health habits.  After that practitioner moved out of state, in 2007, I began working full time at Tuscarawas County Board of DD providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.  I worked there until I started at MEORC in 2012, giving me 9 years of experience in the DD field.  I currently serve on the state Health Advisory Committee in which we provide support and education for individuals who have intellectual, mental, or developmental disabilities and the nurses who serve them. I am inspired by the individuals that I come in contact with.  I love working with people and whether I am sharing my knowledge of nutrition or my knowledge of safe medication administration, I feel most satisfied when I have made a positive difference in someone’s life.

I have 20 years of experience in the DD field, from summer camp counselor to Medicaid Manager, I’ve almost done it all. I’ve worked in a large urban county and a small rural county. I’ve spent the last 9 years immersed in the waiver world working to help SSA’s help the people we serve create their best lives. I owe my whole career to the very first group of adults and kids with disabilities I worked with as a summer camp counselor in 1997. I took the job as something to do with my summer having no real idea what I was doing. I had always been the underdog, the loner, the weird kid in school and I felt a kindred spirit when I met another group of fun, funny, smart, caring human beings who also just wanted to be accepted for who they were, not for what everyone else thought they should be. In my spare time, my husband and I like to garden, watch subtitled movies and anime, visit the local farmers market and help make Sunday service at our church run smoothly. When I have time to myself, I like to knit and crochet, play roller derby, drink wine and/or cider and read sci-fi/fantasy fiction. I am inspired by good people doing good things for each other regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender. I am also inspired by the complex simplicity of nature and the universe.

I am a registered nurse and have been working in this field for over 13 years. I am involved in Delegated Nursing and completing Nursing Quality Assessment Reviews. I have been married to Jim for 21 years. We have 2 children; Amber is 18 and Austin is 15. I enjoy scrapbooking and attending sporting events. I have several pets; 2 dogs, 2 bearded dragons, a 125 gallon fish tank with several fish, and a cat. I wasn’t happy about the cat showing up, but she has become the queen of the house. I started in this field because of my Aunt Patsy, she has Down Syndrome and moved into my parent’s home after my Grandma passed away in 1994. My brother was graduating high school and I was getting married but my parents did not think twice about welcoming her to our home.  She is a blessing to our family and can make a friend wherever she goes. I enjoy my job because I am able to do work that helps improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities.

I've worked in the non-profit and public sector since I graduated from Indiana University in 2000, beginning my career with Ohio University’s Office of Development, where I also met Jason (an OU grad), and we were married in 2003.  I began my work in the DD field in 2007 at Muskingum County Board, spending four years as the Business Manager.  I have an MBA from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.  Though I love numbers, a challenge, and supporting people; in March of 2014 my real love came to life when Jason and I welcomed our first son, Oliver.  In December 2015, we welcomed our second son, Jackson, and I made the tough (and easy, at the same time) decision to refocus and give up my career.  I love that beginning in May 2016, MEORC gave me the opportunity to do both.  I work (part-time) for MEORC, which gives me the chance to continue to help support people; while also focusing on my family and being a stay at home mom (the best and most rewarding, while toughest and challenging jobs I’ll ever have).

My mom began working in the field as a licensed social worker long before I was born. You could say I grew up in the field and I often joke about learning my first Medicaid rule when I was about 4 years old, at least that’s how I remember it anyway. I took my first job working for an agency provider on my 18th birthday. Since that time, I have spent the last 16 years working and experiencing aspects of every job you can imagine in our field. A lot of my expertise comes at the provider level and draws on those experiences. If you’ve ever taken a training with me, you may know I am quite the story teller. It seems that people learn best when you’re willing to share your experiences with them, rather than just talking at them. We have a 3 year old son named David who was named after my grandfather and 3 dogs. Some people know me as the guy with cool suspenders. Oh, and the answer is yes. Yes, people snap them – randomly. Sometimes even strangers can’t resist. One thing you might not know about me is that I am a musician and have tried my hand at acting. I worked in haunted houses at both Cedar Point and Geauga Lake. There was also a film I was in where I got to act (and use the green screen) in a Cleveland movie studio.

My passion for creating a community of support where all people feel value goes beyond my 15 years’ administrative experience with agency providers; it comes from a love for my son.  Guiding a system and community that will support him in having a self-directed life that allows him to contribute and belong is the inspiration behind everything I do.  When I am not supporting Provider’s and County Boards through the ImagiNetwork, you may find me practicing my shot on the range, searching for antique glassware, or serving coffee to members and guests at Lifepointe Church.

I have worked at MEORC for more than 15 years. I have performed a variety of functions during my tenure and have a vast historical knowledge of the operations of MEORC. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family whether it be camping or attending my children’s sporting events. I have two busy young boys who play a variety of sports throughout the year. I am usually the team mom or organizing some aspect of the sport.

I have been a registered nurse for 36 years and have enjoyed  spending the last 18 years serving in multiple positions within the developmental disabilities field. I began my career providing home visits for the Help Me Grow Program.  It was exciting to watch new parents bring their babies home and guiding them through their child’s development. My next position was as a nurse for individuals who attended the County Board’s day programs, it was rewarding to see everyone doing activities they enjoyed. After providing nursing services for the County Board, I  became a SSA and enjoyed supporting individuals in getting their services. In 2014, I began my career at Mid East Ohio Regional Council as a waiver coordinator and have since added nursing services to my job duties. I enjoy going to individual’s homes, meeting their caregivers and  performing nursing quality assurance reviews, which is an assessment that provides oversight of the individual’s support services for medications and health related activities. I also teach classes for medication administration certification and have recently begun providing assessments that assist with determining individual’s need for nursing services. I’m proud to be a member of a team that supports individuals so they can be safe, healthy and happy.

Combined, I have over 20 years’ experience in banking and customer service. I look forward to continuing my accounting career at MEORC as a Fiscal Specialist where I can make an impact on the DD community by helping to improve people’s financial well-being.

I like to spend my free time with family. I have 2 great step-children and 10 nieces/nephews. Evenings are usually spent at a sporting event or some other school activity. I like to go for walks to clear my mind and to relax. During football season, I watch every OSU game to support the school I attended.

I have volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader for the past 6 years and enjoy getting the girls prepared to be great leaders. I am also the treasurer at my church.

My hero is my Dad because he pushed me to complete any task that I started. Even when I was struggling, he always told me I could do it. He taught me many things about cars and how to maintain them so they last a long time. He had many health problems and was in pain most of the time. Yet he still helped his children as much as possible.

My most important accomplishment is completing my bachelor’s degree while working full time and maintaining family commitments.

I have been working with MEORC over 2 years. Currently, I work part time as a fiscal specialist, working evenings and weekends. I process PAWS for Holmes and Carroll counties and am responsible for billing Day Services for Holmes and Muskingum counties. I enjoy working with the CPT/PAWS as I like to work as a team with the SSA’s to provide our individuals with the best possible care and services to enhance their lives. I also work full time at another entity during the day. I have two extraordinary daughters and a grandson who is the light of my life. Being an animal lover, I have 5 horses, 2 ponies, 2 dogs, 3 cats and a rabbit that live with me on my farm.
