Tech Try Kits

These Tech Try Kits are comprised of various supportive technologies that have been purchased through the DODD Tech Hub grant awarded to MEORC to support counties in Region 5, Athens, and Vinton.

The purpose of the kits is to provide access to anyone in any of the counties in Region 5, Athens, and Vinton with access to try technology that could be used to support needs that often occur with people served by county boards of DD. These kits can be used to facilitate conversations to get people thinking about what technology could do to enhance independence. Also, SSA’s or others who have been trained to assess needs can use items in this kit as a means to help people try technology to determine if it would be a good fit for them to increase independence, or if other options need to be explored.

There is no right or wrong technology solution, as every person is different. What is needed for everyone is the opportunity to explore options, and this is a tool kit to do so.
